Gathering with CAPS, Campus Ministry

On Friday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. in the Dearborn Hall lounge, a gathering will be held to help individuals process their feelings about the violence and tragic loss that touched our campus community on Monday.  Members of the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) faculty and Campus Ministry will be on hand to facilitate the session.

CAPS, which is located in the Ghering Health and Wellness Center, is also available to work individually with students who need assistance processing feelings.  You may contact CAPS by calling (814) 732-2252.

Unity Service

On Monday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m., a Unity Service will be held in the Van Houten South Dining Hall. This event is an opportunity for the campus community to come together to reflect on the violence and tragic loss that touched our University on Nov. 17.  The service will feature speakers and the signing of a Unity Banner.

Speakers will include President Julie E. Wollman, Campus Ministry representatives, and Ms. Sonya Arrington, an Erie resident who founded Mothers Against Teen Violence after the shooting death of her son in January 2010.

The Unity Banner will be signed as a commitment to non-violence and campus unity.
