OSD Open House and Prospective Student Visitation Day – Edinboro University Opens the Doors of its Office for Students with Disabilities to prospective students and their families to:

  • Learn about Edinboro’s academic programs and opportunities
  • Explore the campus and learn more about how students are involved in campus life
  • Meet the staff who coordinate the services that set Edinboro University apart from others, especially in providing services for students with disabilities

The Edinboro University Planetarium Christmas program is a delight for those of all ages. Celebrate the Christmas season and explore the changing seasons. Doors open at 6:30pm. First show begins at 7:00pm; Second show begins at 8:30pm. Admission is free, but space is limited. Reservations are required.

Shameless: The Art of Disability (Movie)
What does it mean to be disabled and how does it shape an artist’s work? This documentary explores what is known as the disability art movement, following five artists – a painter, a writer, an actor, a theater director, and a filmmaker, all of whom happen to have physical disabilities – through their creative work. Intense group discussions of artistic and personal goals are also recorded. Free and open to the public.

Edinboro University faculty and staff and a guest panelist will discuss the importance of building strong partnerships that impact positive transition for individuals from high school and the world of work to the University.
Panelists: Dr. Susan Packard. Dr. Juanita Kasper, Eileen Michaels, Lisa Laird, Kelly Bidwell, Sharon Conklin, all of EU, and Kim Sokolowski of the State Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Reflecting on Experiences

Edinboro University students who receive services from the Office for Students with Disabilities will reflect on their personal experiences regarding what transitional tools and strategies worked for them and what would be helpful to others considering higher education.
