Start Day Kilted Mile (Multi-Day Event)
The Kilted Mile is an Edinboro University tradition that originated as part of the first Highland Games and Scottish Festival in 1993. The Kilted Mile – in all its tartan glory – keeps our traditions alive at Homecoming 2020. From weekend warriors to casual runners to families and kids of all ages, everyone is welcome to participate.

This year's race will take place ANYWHERE between Wednesday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 4. Participants will track their own times. Race results must be sent in by Monday, Oct. 5, at noon. The traditional Kilted Mile course (Darrow road to Meadville Street ending at the crosswalk between Flip and the Hotel) will be set up Wednesday through Sunday, but racers can participate at any location. After racers have registered, they will receive an email with more information about submitting their race times.

7:30 PM (Cancelled) "The Information Apocalypse" by Mari K. Eder
The Mari K. Eder event, which was scheduled for tomorrow night (Wednesday, Nov. 28) has been canceled due to inclement weather. It will be rescheduled in January. We will notify the campus community once we have a confirmed date.

Mari K. Eder, a retired U.S. Army major general and president of the business consulting company Benson’s Review, LLC, will discuss “The Information Apocalypse” on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Frank G. Pogue Student Center.

During the lecture, Eder will examine the complex and rapidly evolving public information landscape and the factors degrading the effectiveness of mass communication. She will address “fake news” and the erosion of confidence in conventional journalism caused by user-generated content in a toxic environment.

A native of Grove City, Pa., Eder holds a bachelor's and master's degree in English from Edinboro University and the Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College. She is also a graduate of executive and senior leadership programs at the National Defense University and the Army War College, and she received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Edinboro University in 2013.
