#MeToo: A Moment or a Movement? An Edinboro University Panel
Please join Edinboro University faculty and staff for “#MeToo: a Moment or a Movement?” a panel discussion about #MeToo, which has invited thousands of people around the world to tell their stories of sexual abuse and harassment. Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Compton Hall, Room 107A, this panel discussion is free and open to the public.

After a brief introduction to the development of #MeToo, the panelists will comment on the issue from their professional perspectives and experience, including subjects such as:
• Is this a catalyst for significant social change or merely a fleeting popular trend?
• The impact of social media and recent accusations in the entertainment industry
• How this issue has expanded to include diverse voices
• Factors involved with the prevalence of sexual violence in society

The purpose of this panel is to educate and provide information about challenging issues we are faced with today, while fostering an environment that is inclusive, accepting and willing to engage in meaningful discussion.

Panelists include:
• Dr. Daniel Burdick, Music and Theatre Department
• Dr. Patricia Claster, Sociology Department
• Dr. Laura Miller, Health and Physical Education Department
• Pertrina Marrero, Director of Diversity and Inclusion
• Michelle Ritzel, Director of Campus Life & Leadership Development and Deputy Title IX Coordinator
• Lydia Laythe, Therapist and Licensed Social Worker

Moderated by: Dr. Stacy Dunn, Criminal Justice, Anthropology, and Forensic Studies Department
