All Day | Western Regional Competition for the Pennsylvania Academic Decathlon Edinboro University is honored to host this year's Western Regional Competition for the Pennsylvania Academic Decathlon on February 15-16. More than 200 high school students from the western section of the state will visit campus to compete in a 10-event scholastic competition. The theme for the 2018–2019 Academic Decathlon is "The 1960s: A Transformational Decade." Qualifiers will go on to compete in the state championships in March and then on to national competition. |
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM | True Black History Museum A collection of rare and authentic artifacts from generations of African-American families will be on display Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Van Houten North Dining Hall. The official True Black History Museum was originally established to preserve Black history and educate society on the contributions of Black culture to mankind.
Featuring more than 150 artifacts, the collection spans from the 18th Century through today and includes highlights from the Mid-Atlantic Slave Trade, the Civil War, Reconstruction, the original Jim Crow laws, Civil Rights, Black Power movement and modern day. |
