The Strong Females of Harry Potter
Dr. Corbin Fowler, Department of English and Philosophy
Our roles models, especially when we are young, are often characters in books or movies. The female characters in Rowling’s Harry Potter saga have been amusing and inspiring book lovers and movie goers for 20 yrs. Whether as heroes or villains, the central female characters are models for how strong females can be. The life and success of JKR is also a wonderful example of female strength and overcoming hard times. Dr. Fowler will show a short film and discuss the powerful girls and women of Harry Potter.
