Addressing Violence in Our Schools from a Trauma-Informed Perspective
Tyler Titus is a Licensed Professional Counselor, trauma expert, community activist, public speaker, and City of Erie School Board Director. In 2017, he became the first transgender person to be elected to public office in Pennsylvania. Titus will discuss a local perspective on gun violence in schools.

"Julia Robinson and Hilbert's Tenth Problem

As part of Women's History Month, Dr. John Hoggard from the Math and Computer Science Department takes a look at the life of Julia Robinson, a top mathematician who contributed significantly to the solution of a major problem in 20th century mathematics, including a remarkable collaboration with Russian mathematicians at the height of the cold war. The event will take place Tuesday, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. in Cooper Science Center, Room 172.

Stargazing at the Erie Bluffs
Edinboro University’s Planetarium staff and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will mark the official start of spring with an outdoor viewing of the vernal equinox on Tuesday, March 20.

Members of the community are invited to join the free stargazing event from 7-10 p.m. at Erie Bluffs State Park, located at 11100 West Lake Road, Lake City, Pa. The 587-acre Erie Bluffs State Park is located along the Lake Erie shoreline in western Erie County, 12 miles west of the City of Erie.

Telescopes from Edinboro University’s Planetarium and Observatory will provide participants with a close view of Orion, the Orion Nebula, the moon and other cosmic wonders.
