All Day
Denim Day
Peace Over Violence established the Denim Day campaign in response to a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court that overturned a rape conviction based on the victim's tight jeans. Following the ruling, women in the Italian Parliament wore jeans to work in solidarity with the victim. Since then, wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.

Students and employees are asked to make a social statement by wearing jeans on Wednesday as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround sexual assault.

In addition to wearing denim, please consider making a donation to the Office of Social Equity's Discretionary Fund, which is used to support sexual violence education and awareness programs on campus.

Questions can be directed to the Office of Social Equity at (814) 732-2167.

All Day
A Taste of Paris
Edinboro University campus will adopt the essence of France’s historic capital city during a day-long festival on April 25.

Edinboro University’s Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting “A Taste of Paris” from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. for all local Francophiles and Edinboro campus community members.

The lawns of the Baron-Forness Library, located in the heart of campus, will transform into the lyrical streets of Paris – starting at 8 a.m. with morning yoga courtesy of Jill Murphey from yogaErie. Guests will also be treated to complimentary tea, coffee and croissants to start their day.

At 10 a.m., SGA invites guests to a build-your-own crêpe station, where students can create magical French pancakes – or munch on popcorn and cotton candy. Edinboro University student clubs and organizations will line the sidewalks with tables and games, with Boro Campus Rec providing Kan Jam and cornhole boards.

From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the parking lot next to Baron-Forness Library will be converted into a French bistro, with two food trucks scheduled to provide lunch for the community. Sticks & Bricks Wood Fired Pizza will provide a build-your-own pizza station, while Angry Chicken will offer their fried chicken menu. Lunch will be provided at no cost for the first 800 students.

Clubs and organizations will be back in action from 2-8 p.m., with more opportunities for faculty, staff and students to mingle and celebrate another successful academic year, that wraps up with Spring 2019 Commencement on May 4.

Parisian nightlife takes over at 8 p.m. as the Baron-Forness lawns become an outdoor movie theater. SGA members will distribute blankets for students, who will relax in the lawns and watch film projects from Edinboro University senior cinema students on an outdoor projector.
